500th item

Today, I sold 500th item!
It's been a great journey since I started to make jewelry. I went through all the jewelry I have sold and some of them made me cringe and think 'whoa I can do so much better than that now...' But this means I'm improving so I guess that's good sign.

When I first stared, I wanted to focus on one of a kind, semi-precious gemstone jewelry. So I had mostly gemstone earrings and necklaces during my first year on Etsy. Sales were really slow. I visited forums and blogs to read what other sellers are doing, made twitter account and Facebook fan page, offered giveaways to promote my shop, but it only helped very little.

So I decided to change my items - instead of gemstone jewelry, I made more simple and everyday jewelry pieces. Views on my shops and my simple jewelry started to go up. It took me one year that there are more buyers on simple jewelry then gemstone jewelry.

I'm making unique gemstone jewelry time to time for my 'one of kind' section.
I still have a lot to learn and lots to work on. I will make a post about how to sell on Etsy sometime.

I guess it's because I usually wear shirts that covers the belt line :(
But I really want to try this look so, I guess I'll need to buy some belts!

Rainy days

I love rain. I used to live in Auckland, NZ and Seattle for a while where rains often.  I like the sound of rain drops, smell after the rain and most of all, I love when the sun breaks out right after the rain.
